Kayak Demo/
Loyalty Rewards Program
A way for people who are in the market to buy a Kayak, Inflatable Kayak, or Raft, to test out what is available. In order to provide better service to the growing number of folks doing free kayak demos, we have modified our Paddling Partners/demo program for 2013. members receive multiple benefits in the form of discounts, demos and other perks. These programs allow for full use of Paddling Partner Membership fee towards the purchase of a new boat. We encourage you to support your local businesses.
We now offer 2 options for Paddling Partners members:
Basic Partner Plan $49 : (Includes 4 free Demos : Boat, Float-bags, Outfitting Foam.)
- Also includes any one of the following rental items free with demo: Skirt, or PFD or Paddle or Helmet.
- All other gear will need to be rented.
- You can apply the $49 towards a purchase of a new boat within the same year you sign-up for this Demo program.
- Participants in this program also have automatic membership in our River Store rewards Program
- Members have rolling pool use privileges (subject to safety restrictions and availability)
Or
Partner Elite Demo/Rewards Program: $150 = (includes 10 free Demos and max of 2 demos of any individual boat).
- Demos include use of Full Equipment package (normally $45 RENTAL) up to 3 Times within Season (PFD, HELMET, PADDLE, SKIRT) in addition to Float bags & Outfitting which are always available Free. Demos are subject to availability, reservations can be made 7 days in advance only.
- $150 may be used towards purchase of a New Boat during or at the end of the season (within the same calendar year).
- Elite members are eligible for use of boats OFF South Fork at 15% off regular rental fee, permission must be obtained to do this.
- This package also entitles members to 15% off any other rentals during the year, including Mountain bikes, go-pro cameras or additional gear rentals
- Automatic membership in our River Store rewards program.
- Members have rolling pool use privileges (subject to safety restrictions and availability)

Kayak Rolling Practice Pool
- 2 adults must be present at all times
- You must check in briefly with River Store Staff prior to entering the pool area.
- Access is only available when the pool is empty, and any Classes have priority in the pool
- Please! Not meant for anyone to be teaching Kayak rolling to others. Your rights to use the pool can and will be rescinded for this or any reason deemed appropriate by River Store staff.
- Mondays are not included due to pool maintenance schedule.
** If you signed up for the demo program after Oct 1, 2012 and before March 1, 2013 your program will remain the same as last season. Please contact us if you are unsure what your program is set up as. **
Signing up is Easy and will only take 10 min of your time at the shop in the morning before your trip.
The Sign up fee places you in the Paddling Partners Program which is a club membership which allows you access to the boats, rolling pool, rewards program, and puts you on our Partners mailing list so that you are first to hear of promotions, deals and events sponsored by the shop. When you purchase a ”New” boat from the River Store, you get back the Membership Fee you paid !
To Sign-Up drop in at the store and fill out our Paddling Partners Agreement & Release of Liability & Assumption of Risk Form. We will store this paperwork for the season (sign up once and done for the whole season :o) !) From then on you can call or e-mail us to reserve a boat for any date we are open. Our Demo Boats/Boards are only available for use on the South Fork of the American River between Chili Bar & Salmon Falls.
If you would like to test out one of our boats on another segment of river, rentals are available.
Reservations are encouraged as we have 40 demo boats but only one of each model! We take reservations 1 week prior to use, contact us at 530 626 3435 or info@theriverstore.com
